KodaGO started with a simple problem: getting around in smaller Canadian cities is hard. For a lot of people, traveling between towns for work, a doctor's visit, or just everyday life is something they do all the time, but the options to do it reliably and affordably just aren't there.
Taxis are expensive for longer trips. Ride-hailing apps don't exist outside the big cities. So most people end up depending on their own car, asking friends for favours, or just making do. It shouldn't be that complicated.
KodaGO came from noticing something obvious: the same people are already driving the same routes every day. We built a platform to connect them with passengers heading the same way, making it easy to find a ride, book a seat, and travel without the stress or the high cost.
We started in Manitoba and we're growing across Canada, focused on the communities that have been overlooked by traditional transit and tech platforms alike.
The Story Behind KodaGO
Justus Oladele
Technology Entrepreneur
KodaGO was founded by Justus Oladele, a technology entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in software and product development, with academic training in Computer Science.
Originally from Nigeria, Justus later moved to Montreal, Quebec, a city where ride-hailing services and modern mobility platforms were widely available. When he relocated to Steinbach, Manitoba, the contrast was stark. Getting reliable, affordable transportation was unexpectedly difficult, and the options that existed were inconsistent and costly.
That lived frustration sparked a question that refused to go away:
"If so many people are already traveling the same routes every day, why isn't there a smarter way to connect them?"
That question became the foundation of KodaGO. But great ideas grow through great people. It was at a local soccer park where Justus met Mathiew Heinrichs, a chance encounter over a shared love of football that would become far more meaningful than either expected.
"Football brings people together in a way that nothing else quite does. You show up as strangers and leave as teammates. The same energy that drives you to chase a ball across a pitch, that passion, that persistence, is exactly what it takes to chase a vision and build something that genuinely helps people. The pitch taught me that the best teams are built on trust, and that is what KodaGO is: a community built on trust."

When Justus shared his vision with Matt at that soccer park, Mathiew didn't just listen — he believed in it wholeheartedly. His enthusiasm and early support gave the project the validation and momentum it needed. That sideline conversation became one of the defining moments in KodaGO's story.
Drawing on his technical background and years of experience building digital products, Justus designed a platform that organizes shared carpooling travel city to city, making transportation more accessible, affordable, and eco-friendly for communities across Canada.
